I was travelling with my husband and 9 y/o son. We had an amazing experience with Epic Mountain Express.Wonderful and efficient drivers and coordination. I wouldn't hesitate to use Epic Mountain Express again and would like to thank them for making my trip to Vail, in the worst of weather conditions, enjoyable and comfortable. So overall this is an amazing and efficient service, managed in a professional and competent way. When booking the service I emailed Epic Mountain Express several times, and then again just before I left for the US, and each time my email was answered in less than 20 minutes. It's a minibus, so you're quite up-close with other passengers, but that's okay, and people were friendly and happy to chat. On return, the minibus was on time at my hotel and the driver was helpful and informative when we arrived at the airport. However, the service continued with a little wait and in the snow and ice Larry was a steady and careful driver - as well as lending me his arm to help me across the snow on arrival. It was manic at the airport when I arrived from Heathrow and I was worried because of the extreme weather conditions that the minibus run by Epic Mountain Express might not run. While this may not be a Disney classic, it’s a cute film to watch together. The heart-to-hearts being interrupted by sheer chaos add to the humor. The heart of the story is about Chicken Little’s relationship with his father and his desire for a little respect from both his dad, who he wants to believe in him, and his community. In the story, Chicken Little (Zach Braff) is hit by an actual piece of the sky-part of an alien spaceship-and he and his friends Abby Mallard (Joan Cusack as the Ugly Duckling) and piglet Runt (Steve Zahn) have to save their town from an alien invasion when no one believes them. This quirky Disney film often gets overlooked, despite its madcap pacing and comical plot. While this one doesn’t hit Netflix until mid-April, it’s one you should definitely pull up later in the month! Chicken Little (2005) – U.S. Who knew that the yellow Minions would be household icons 10 years after this movie was released? While the silly sidekicks to villain Gru (Steve Carell) certainly steal the show, the journey of an unloved and underappreciated master thief who wants to steal the moon, but then instead forms a lasting relationship with three orphaned girls, remains a favorite of mine. Even without that extra hook, it’s an under-appreciated film that will especially appeal to dancers and underdogs. While the story is fairly formulaic, the 1880s setting in Paris, and shots of familiar icons in progress (the Statue of Liberty, the Eiffel Tower) give offer some extra flavor, and could even create a leaping (pun intended) off point for distance-learning conversations about geography or history. After the two of them escape the orphanage that tries to crush their spirits, Félicie (Elle Fanning) bluffs her way into becoming a ballerina in training Victor (Dane DeHaan) pursues his passion for inventing by getting an apprenticeship. This ballet-focused film features two orphans determined to make a better life for themselves in Paris. With a focus on staying friends even when you’re separated, this one might inspire your kids to reach out virtually to their own besties. The plot is about what you’d expect of a Turtles film: after going away to train, Leonardo (James Arnold Taylor) returns, only to find that his brothers, especially Raphael (Nolan North), have moved on without him. After meeting homo sapien Guy (Ryan Reynolds), Eep feels even more strongly about her new ideas, and when a disaster destroys the family cave, Eep is determined to lead her family into the light. Eep (Emma Stone ) isn’t willing to accept her father’s decision that living in a cave keeps her family safe. progress featured in a setting with Neanderthals makes for a solid evening’s entertainment. Suppose you’ve recorded a Track with several vocal takes, each on it’s own Lane. Versions are useful for trying out alternatives. In fact a regular Track is really just a Track with only one version. Track versions are just like regular tracks. I checked the manual, but still don’t understand their merits compared to regular tracks. You might also consider Track Versions, but that’s for another thread. I hope this saves someone else from wasting time searching for this. It’s a convenient feature, but the Cubase documentation is awful. (Lanes are displayed/hidden via the track’s Show Lanes button).Ĭubase lacks a command analogous to “New Playlist” or “New Take” because it doesn’t need one. Each layer is automatically placed in its own Lane. The audio file is layered on top of the previous one. In Cubase, all you do is record again (assuming you’re in the default mode of “Keep History”, in Transport > Audio Record Mode).Įach time you record, a new “take” is automatically created, though so far I haven’t found anywhere where it’s actually labeled “take”. None of the discussions of takes - at least none that I found - described how they’re created if you’re not doing Cycle recording. I searched the manual, watched video tutorials, and did several web searches, all in vain. This is for anyone wondering how to record takes in Cubase outside of the context of Cycle recording - especially folks like me: experienced with other DAWs but new to Cubase and wanting to get up and running quickly. On a snowy October day in 1958 Fred Mercer woke at 0415 to find what every hunter dreams about–a skiff of fresh snow. State: MT Rough country has a tendency to produce big bulls and southwest Montana’s Ruby River country is about as rough as it gets. Recalling his hunt, James wrote that the then #3 largest typical elk in the world became a place for his wife to hang clothes on after ironing. This bull surely wasn’t going to fit as a shoulder mount. He had it shoulder-mounted, but it didn’t fit in his house. The bull he’d shot the previous year was a nice 6×6. He doesn’t carry a camera, so he didn’t bother with photos. With one shot from his Weatherby, James killed the bull, which he thought looked big–he just didn’t know how big. On the last day of his hunt, he and his guide spotted a 7×7 around 300 yards away. He’d shot big elk in the past, and wouldn’t settle for just any 400-class bull. It was on the San Carlos back in 1985 that James Littleton went looking for a trophy. Now that word has gotten out of their potential, a trophy elk hunt on one of these reservations will set you back a mortgage payment (or 10). State: AZ For the past few decades, some Native American Reservations in the Southwest have been producing an inordinate amount of record-book elk–the White Mountain Apache in Arizona for one, another is the San Carlos Apache Reservation in eastern Arizona. And while everyone knows where that famous rack is, no one seems to have a clue about what happened to John Plute. Now, when it’s not traveling the country as a display, it sits in Crested Butte’s Chamber of Commerce downtown. It sat in a hardware store that’s just about as old as the rack. After touring about, the elk ended back in Crested Butte in 1971. In 1961, it was made official in New York City as the number one bull in the world. It was finally measured by an official scorer. The rack was loaned out, stuck in storage, and returned. The Rozman brothers inherited the saloon in question in 1948 along with the antlers. Then in 1915, as legend has it, Plute gave the rack to a bar owner to pay his tab. He told others about the size of his elk, and to prove it, he eventually went back in to pack out the antlers. He didn’t typically haul out the racks as it was tough to pay rent with something that useless back in those days. One day in 1899, he went up to Dark Canyon, 12 miles west of Crested Butte and killed a fine bull, a mighty fine bull. He lived in a boarding house, occasionally trading wild game meat for rent. Legend has it that John Plute, 31, was a miner around Crested Butte, Colorado - as most able-bodied men from the region were. Nearly 20 years ago, OL outdoor writer Jim Zumbo struck out to see and hear about what was then the world’s largest elk. State: CO When elk are killed a good century back, details of the hunt tend to get fuzzy. When Ellsworth and an official measurer put a tape to it, the score, along with proof of a fair chase hunt, proved that this elk was, and still is, the typical world record. The elk was given to his sister, who Ellsworth ended up following into that parking lot in 1995. Winters died in August 1994, the day before his 77th birthday. Even though the rack was stored in a garage for years, Winters would show it off every chance he got. Winters shot the bull with his Savage Model 99. In the fall of 1968, Winters and his friend spotted this bull in the White Mountains near the Black River. Ellsworth traced the story of the hunt to the previous owner’s brother, Alonzo Winters–a deceased cattle-rancher from Arizona. When the truck turned into a local restaurant, Ellsworth was feeling a little hungry himself and ended up buying the rack from its owner. Even so, Ellsworth pulled onto Main Street behind the truck and knew it was a 420-something rack. But the elk he saw in the back of that pick-up was old and faded. Ellsworth is an antler buyer who grew up in the White Mountains of eastern Arizona - a place that has now become synonymous with giant, record-book bulls. For antler buyer Alan Ellsworth, that’s what he saw February, 28 1995. What isn’t all that common is to see a world record rack thrown in with a washer and dryer set, stopped at a traffic light. State: AZ In hunting towns, it’s not uncommon to see a good-sized elk rack and four hooves sticking out of the back of a pick-up in hunting season.
